Stop by a Pat Panther show and you can expect a variety of acoustic music. "I guess people would classify it as sort of folk," Panther says of her style. "There's also a lot of blues in it. I play an acoustic guitar and I finger-pick, which is kind of unusual in the area. It's old-style blues. Then, I do a few singer-songwriter things. Some friends of mine write songs so I'll do their songs and I write songs, too, so I do them also." Her show consists of original material and covers, from artists including Bob Dylan, Bessie Smith and Willie Dixon.

Panther, who sings and plays acoustic guitar, performs solo but is also often joined by additional musicians, many of whom are from another York band, the Normals. Calling themselves the Panther Band, the group includes Pat's son Sam on drums and Janis Wallin on bass, with other musicians including Dave SanSoucie occasionally sitting in.

Panther's musical experience covers more than 30 years. She has been performing in bands since high school, but put her career on hold to raise her children. She just decided recently to get back into performing part-time and considers the stage a good place to focus her energy. "One thing people have told me is that I put a lot of energy into the show. I'm kind of a laid-back person and I don't expend a whole lot of energy, so it's kind of like I'm saving it up for performing. I love to play for people."
