Check this list twice! The Fly has taken the hassle out of the holidays with a condensed guide of goodies for the barfly on your shopping list. Be assured that, upon receiving any of the following carefully selected bar-related gifts, said bargoer will certainly be singing, "Hallelujah!"

HOME BREW KITS
Beer lovers will have a life-long love affair with their very own home beer-brewing kit. Start your gift search at Mr. Steve's Homebrew Supplies, Manchester. With each two-step kit, suds scholars will receive the necessary equipment to brew a batch (about two cases) of beer: plastic fermenting and bottling buckets with spigot, thermometer strip, hand capper, bottle brush, handbook, and more. Cost is $45; a more advanced glass system is $97. Ingredients to suit your tastebuds (boxed grains average $23) are sold separately. For those who prefer grapes to grains, home wine-making kits - 6.5-gallon fermenter and carboy, corks, handbook, and more - start at $59 (a batch makes 24 bottles). Never fear, owner Steve Stoppard also conducts free one-hour brew classes at Mr. Steve's, located at 4332 North George Street, Manchester. Call 266-5954 or visit mrsteves.com for additional info.

COOLER COAT
Forget hauling along a clumsy cooler, a six-pack of beer will stay cool under your collar with the Tailgater Cooler Coat. Invented and designed by Frank Countess, York, about a year ago, this waterproof jacket sports six strategically placed pockets within - perfect for beer cans/bottles (OK, or maybe a cell phone, sunglasses, etc.) before the game, or while on a camping or fishing trip. An added feature is the zipper, which also conveniently acts as a spring-loaded bottle opener. Cooler Coats are available in Large, Extra Large, and Extra-Extra Large sizes; cost is $89, plus shipping and handling. To place an order, print a form from www.beergeerusa.com and send to Beer Geer LLC, P.O. Box 506, York, PA 17405.

CIGARS
For some bargoers, it's not enough for one hand to be busy with a beverage - the other must hold a cigar. Satisfy the cigar smoker's needs with a Cuban cigar from DJ's Westgate Beverage. Owner Jack Shearer claims he's the only one in the area to carry these treasures, and explains that they are legal because the tobacco was embargoed before importing was prohibited. Cubans range from $5-$10. If your barfly prefers a tamer toke, DJ's humidor is packed with hundreds of varieties, plus accessories like gift cases (high end is $53), cutters, and more. DJ's is located in the Westgate Plaza at Kenneth and Loucks roads, York. Call 764-1550 for additional info.

RETRO BAR GEAR
Help your barfly buddy party like it's 1959 with some retro gear barware and smoking accessories from Zap and Co., located at 315 North Queen Street, Lancaster. Start the party with a vintage cocktail shaker, available in standard stainless steel ($14.95-$19.95) or custom designs (up to $39.95). Pour your concoction into your choice of retro shot glasses ($4-$6) or an engravable or covered flask ($24.95-$34.95). After retrieving a cigarette from his new chrome or gold-plated cigarette case ($20-$30) and placing it in his cigarette holder ($8-$30), your bar hoppin' bro can light it with his new Zippo lighter (around $20). Then comes the pièce de résistance: a retro ashtray - options range from the 1950s boomerang ashtray ($14.95) to the popular "spin-o-rama" ($19.95) to the art deco classic nymph ashtray ($284.95). For additional info, call 397-7405 or visit www.zapandco.com.

ELECTRONIC GAMES
No wet-bar wonderland would be complete without some electronic gadgetry. Pla-Mor Music & Amusement Co., located at 131 North Plum Street, Lancaster, serves as a one-stop shop for your pinball pleasure. Pla-Mor's inventory consists primarily of used machines, meaning that you can satisfy your video sweet tooth without breaking the bank. About a dozen pinball machines are in stock, priced at $1,500-$7,000 apiece. Current models include "Rollergames," "Last Action Hero," and "Creature from the Black Lagoon." A variety of video games are also available, including shoot-'em-uppers like "Area 51" and action games like "X-Men," as well as fighting, hunting, racing, and sports games. Prices range from $500-$1,000, although vintage games or sit-down games that come in twin units ("Cruisin'," $15,000) cost more. For additional information, call 392-4140.

BAR GAMES
Turn your barfly's parlour into a playground with some bar-friendly games. A good starting point is Lucchessi Billiard Supply, located at 738 West Market Street, York. If you're feeling especially generous, you can invest in a new pool table starting at $2,000. Other must-haves include a foosball table (averaging $300) and a dart board ($94 for a standard cork board). Any leftover cash can be put toward a lush poker table, air hockey table ($600), set of bar stools, or table tennis conversion. For additional information, call 854-3555.

BARWARE
You may believe Santa exists once you set foot into the barware paradise of Mixology's. This one-stop shop is perfect for the mixology needs of your barfly - from prep to play. Unique gift ideas include a traveling bar kit (pictured), a leather carrying case equipped with two- to three-bottle compartments, a jigger, mini-cups, bottle opener, a list of mixed drink ideas, and serving tray ($90-$100); a traveling wine backpack complete with bottle and glasses pockets, dinnerware, cheese board, and more for $60; and for the martini maker, a variety of shakers ($14.95-$18.95) along with a 50cc vermouth mister to perfect that perfectly dry martini. Mixology's is located at 4343 Carlisle Pike, Camp Hill. For additional info, call 737-7262 or visit www.mixologys.com.

LIMO RIDE
What's almost as nice as a stretch limo for Christmas, takes up less room under the tree, and bears a more affordable price tag? Renting a limo ride! Yes, technically you don't have the thrill of unwrapping a 22-foot luxury car, but it's the perfect pampering pleasure for a bar hopping night on the town with friends. Check your local "Yellow Pages" under Limousine Service for a slew of options.
